Information we use
Profile and device information. The app stores the display name and preset avatar you choose, app preferences, a random guest identifier, and your most recent room on your device. The guest identifier helps reconnect you and distinguish players without creating an account.
Room and gameplay information. To run a live game, our servers process the room code, player display names and avatars, connection status, host status, selected topics, votes, round progress, and results.
Camera access. If you use the QR scanner, the app requests camera access to read the code. We do not upload or retain camera images. The app does not request microphone, contacts, or photo-library access for gameplay.
Diagnostics and security. We may process limited technical data—such as an app version, error message, screen or action name, timestamp, and request timing—to diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and keep rooms reliable. Diagnostic error records are designed not to include your guest identifier.
Purchases. If optional paid packs are available, Apple or Google processes the payment. A purchase-service provider may process a random customer identifier, product identifier, store, and entitlement status. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
How we use information
We use this information only as reasonably needed to:
- create, join, synchronize, and reconnect to game rooms;
- show votes and results to the players in the same room;
- provide and restore optional purchases;
- detect abuse, enforce reasonable rate limits, and protect the service; and
- identify and fix reliability or performance problems.
How long information is kept
Game rooms are intentionally temporary. Finished rooms and their related players, rounds, votes, and custom topics are generally deleted within 6 hours. Abandoned active rooms are generally deleted within 24 hours.
Short-lived security rate-limit records are generally kept for no more than 24 hours. Anonymous diagnostic error records are generally kept for no more than 14 days. Purchase entitlement records may be retained as needed to restore purchases, comply with store requirements, and resolve billing issues.
Local app information remains on your device until you reset it in Settings, uninstall the app, or your device removes it.
Your choices
You can decline camera access and enter a room code manually. In the app’s Settings, you can reset local profile information, recent-room information, preferences, and the locally stored purchase identifier. Store purchases can be restored later.
To ask a privacy question or request help with information associated with a current room or purchase, email us. Because we do not require accounts and most room data is quickly deleted, we may not be able to identify or recover a specific guest’s expired gameplay data.
Children’s privacy
The app is family-friendly but is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect an under-13 user’s legal name, birth date, contact information, or precise location. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
Security and changes
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as the app changes. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
